What We Aim For

We build to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 at level AA. We have not commissioned an independent audit, so we are not claiming certification. What follows is what we have actually built and checked ourselves.

What Is In Place

• Every page starts with a skip link that jumps straight to the main content, so keyboard users do not walk the navigation each time.
• The whole site works with a keyboard alone, and focus stays visible as it moves.
• The lighthouse beam, the sky reveal, and the animated product tour all respect your system reduced-motion setting. Turn it on and the motion stops rather than degrading the page.
• Decorative animation is hidden from screen readers, so it is never read out as meaningless content.
• Form fields keep their labels, and validation errors are announced rather than shown only in colour.
• Text is set in relative units, so browser zoom and larger default font sizes reflow the page instead of clipping it.
• Body and heading text is checked against its background for contrast at level AA or better.

Known Gaps

The product tour on the product page is a dense animated walkthrough. It carries text alternatives for everything it shows, but it is still the hardest page on the site to take in with assistive technology. If that page is where you get stuck, email us and we will walk you through the same material directly.

The booking page embeds Google’s appointment scheduler. Its accessibility is Google’s to determine, not ours. If it does not work for you, email us and we will arrange a time by hand.

If something here blocks you, write to hello@membeacon.com, say what you were trying to do and what got in the way, and we will fix it and tell you when it is done. You do not need to know the technical name for the problem.
